What is it?

Lip micropigmentation is a superficial and minimally invasive procedure, similar to what is done on eyebrows. The procedure is recommended for people who have thinner, colorless or scarred lip areas, and who wish to highlight the region.

With the technique, it is possible to redefine contours, minimize the appearance of scars and bring more color to the region in a more natural way.

With micropigmentation equipment called a dermograph, the pigment is deposited in the superficial layer of the skin. As it is a superficial technique, it is not that painful, but it all depends on each person's sensitivity. An anesthetizing ointment is generally used to relieve pain.

The procedure can be done in two ways, causing different aspects:

The first (and most common) is called revitalization, where a softer, non-marking pigment is used on the lips;

​

The second is called the lipstick effect, where the color is more noticeable and the technique is done with a more marked contour in place.
